20th Century Tea/Display Case
For the Week of September 30 - October 6
This charming early 20th-century tea/display case is very well constructed. Both the doors and drawers show elm burl fronts, and the front of the enclosing frame is pleasingly divided into two attractive domed rows. The entire chest is done in darker shades, with only the brass and copper handles providing a color contrast. This technique is thought to provide a better contrast with the artifacts that are to be seen. Obviously, everything from stark White to polychrome ceramics would be very distinctive in this environment.
